In June, IKEA will introduce the MÄVINN Collection – a new and exclusive limited range that celebrates the beauty and skill involved in creating one-of-a-kind home accessories. The IKEA MAVINN Collection boasts a delightful array of sensory textures and vibrant hues that will infuse your living space with personality.
It features an assortment of materials, including cotton, surplus denim materials, and organic fibers like banana fiber, jute, and paper made from mulberry tree bark. These materials are primarily procured from local sources in countries such as India, Thailand, Vietnam, and Bangladesh.
IKEA’s latest collection is comprised of twenty exquisitely crafted items that were collaboratively made with seven social enterprises throughout Asia. These businesses offer sustainable job opportunities for individuals from marginalized communities. The handmade accessories serve as a tribute to the expert skill and traditional craftsmanship of the artisans involved in their production.
With each item being individually handcrafted, no two pieces share the same shape and form. The collection encompasses a diverse range of products, including baskets, rugs, a lampshade, an apron, bags, cushion covers, a wall organizer, and several others.

Maria Vinka and Paulin Machado, the designers behind the collection, sought to highlight the significance of artisanal craftsmanship and spotlight the creators behind each piece. They drew inspiration from the ambiance of a bustling local craft market, where visitors can discover fascinating objects and meet the talented individuals behind them.
Each piece exudes the charming character and rustic essence of a carefully selected item, featuring vivid splashes of color and natural materials meticulously woven or embroidered together to create distinct patterns. Their handmade quality lends a one-of-a-kind touch to each item.
